Why Choose GeoBlue Travel Insurance?

Physician & Provider Network

What Good Is Health Insurance If You Can't Find a Doctor You Trust?

GeoBlue has an elite network of doctors from most every specialty ready to see you in over 180 countries. Only a small fraction of doctors around the world meet GeoBlue’s exacting standards—participation is by invitation only. We seek out professionals certified by the American or Royal Board of Medical Specialties who speak English, and we factor in recommendations by over 158 Physician Advisors from all over the world.

We assemble in-depth provider profiles so our members can choose with confidence, and we put formal contracts in place to ensure preferred patient access. GeoBlue doctors and hospitals bill us directly so you don’t have to worry about filing a claim.

For members choosing a GeoBlue plan that offers benefits in the United States, you gain access to the largest national network and facilities that have been awarded the coveted Blue Distinction for superior medical outcomes. In the U.S., more than 80 percent of physicians and 90 percent of hospitals contract directly with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans.

Ready To Schedule An Appointment?

Our Member Services portal and mobile app make it easy to find and choose an in-network provider near you. Staying within the GeoBlue network ensures preferred patient access and makes for an easier, streamlined payment process.

If you decide to see a physician outside of the GeoBlue network, you won’t lose benefits. However, it may take more time to arrange payment with the provider.

After reviewing our in-depth provider profiles and choosing the right doctor for you, it’s time to schedule your appointment. Here are some helpful tips:

Outside the U.S.

To find a doctor near you, log in to Member Services, download the GeoBlue mobile app.

You should contact the provider directly to make your appointment. After you make your appointment, contact us at the number on the back of your ID card so we can work with the provider to arrange Direct Pay. This is a very important step! In many countries, providers require payment at the time of the visit unless Direct Pay has been arranged.

Inside the U.S.

If you have a GeoBlue Xplorer or GeoBlue Navigator plan, you have access to the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO network of providers. To find a doctor near you, log in to Member Services, download the GeoBlue mobile app or visit Blue Cross Blue Shield Find a Doctor.

When scheduling your appointment, tell the provider’s office that you are covered under Blue Cross Blue Shield. They will be able to verify your coverage using your member ID.

Keep in mind that there are many different Blue Cross Blue Shield companies and brands in the U.S. Some U.S. providers may not recognize GeoBlue as one of these Blue Cross Blue Shield brands. Please be sure to tell them that you are covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueCard PPO/EPO, and they should be able to verify your coverage using your member ID.

GeoBlue Voyager and GeoBlue Trekker plans do not provide coverage in the United States.
